Dolce Vita is a restaurant specialising in fresh fish and
sea food. It has an Italian cuisine and run by locals. It
opened its doors in July 1981 and since then, management and
staff have always sought to give the best service to its discerned
customers. The name of the restaurant was inspired by the
famous film of Federico Fellini La Dolce Vita. The managing
directors, Patrick Attard Baldacchino and Michael Micallef
feel proud to accommodate regular customers and also celebrities
who visit our islands. Some of the celebrities that have dined
at La Dolce Vita are Bridge Nielson, Dino De Laurentis and
Demis Rousseau.
The restaurant served antipasto of sea food, pasta dishes,
meat and daily fresh fish. The locality were the restaurant
is situated i.e. St Julian’s is a fishing area. Hence
daily fresh fish is supplied to La Dolce Vita Restaurant according
to the catch of the day. The restaurant managers are always
ready to guide all their customers to the best choice of dishes
according their individual tastes. The chef himself is always
prepared to go out of his way to prepare dishes which are
not listed on the menu. As much as possible seasonal natural
ingredients are used to prepare pasta sauces such as lees,
asparagus, artichokes, fresh shellfish and sea urchin sauce.
The restaurant caters also for those customers who prefer
vegetarian dishes.
The restaurant’s wine list caters for those who prefer
a local Maltese bottle of wine or any foreign wine. The list
includes an extensive range of foreign wines coming from Italy,
France, Spain, Chile, Australia, South Africa, Lebanon and
New Zealand. The head wine-waiter has a lot of experience
in recommending the right wine for the right meal.
The restaurant has a capacity of 180 to 200 persons. Lately
the management has sought to accommodate groups of business
tours who visit our island for conferences and leisure. The
location of the restaurant is ideal for those who would like
to dine overlooking the picturesque Spinola Bay and also for
those who would like to entertain themselves in discos and
pubs after their meal. Next to La Dolce Vita Restaurant one
can find Paceville which is the island’s nightlife spot.
The managing directors and staff would like to take this opportunity
to thank its customers for its continuous support throughout
these long years and look forward to be of service to its
future customers. The restaurant is open 7 days a week for
dinner from 18.30 till 23.00 (last order). The management
is also ready to exceed to requests for group lunches.
