Situated at the imposing Palazzo Spinola, in St. Julian’s, the Ghonnella restaurant has established itself as one of the best restaurants serving Maltese contemporary cuisine & Fresh Fish. The restaurant offers its patrons an interesting and varied Maltese menu, based on true Maltese traditional recipes.

The kitchen has endeavored to produce a menu that merge time proven recipes with modern and attractive presentation- after all, dining is also a visual experience. Taking a look at the menu, one’s imagination immediately flares up with dishes like, mushroom filled with beer stewed snails, topped with garlic crumble and baked until golden brown, while the pork fillet dish has become legendary the perfectly cooked fillet steaks and rabbit dishes are close contenders. The pasta section of the menu is a must for pasta lovers, and if one opts for fresh fish, the restaurant serves daily fresh fish that are brought in by the local fisherman.

The restaurant operates from the Palace’s cellar which used to serve as the servants’ quarters in years gone by. The cellar’s restaurant offers cozy, warm and serene ambience with candles lit throughout the restaurant to add a touch of romance to it.

During the summer months Ghonnella Restaurant also offers it dinner the chance to eat Alfresco.
