Miriam Sorrell has become synonymous with vibrant colours, passionate themes and a direct connection with the senses and emotions. Her art is about celebrating the full scope of the natural beauty we can see and appreciate around us - she magically blends and juxtaposes colours and textures to create an immediate feeling of excitement and fun as you look at her works - they inspire you and instantly elevate your mood, which is what any form of creative art should aim to do.

WThe rich blend of styles and colours she uses have much to do with her own interesting and varied life. Although born in London, she was brought up in Malta, but since spent many years based in various parts of the UK, during which time she studied and researched several areas of alternative therapies, practising as an aromatherapist.

She also trained as a singer, indulged her passion for exotic cooking, whilst of course concentrating on her painting. So inspired was she by her return 4 years ago to Malta with all its glorious colour and vitality, that she has produced an incredible 150 paintings during this period.

Miriam has since staged several major exhibitons in Malta, and held a solo exhibition at the Millenium Chapel in Paceville, St.Julians, during Easter. A further major solo exhibition follows at St. James Cavalier in Valletta in 2003.
