Tona is located in Mgarr Harbour within walking distance from
the ferry and yachts or cabin cruisers which berth in the
marina. Taken over by new management this summer Ta’
Tona is set to be one of the best restaurants around. Dining
is typically outdoors on wooden tables covered with pretty
checked tablecloths where may admire the harbour scene of
fishing boats, yachts and cabin cruisers with the odd duck
quacking its way around the boats.

The
menu offers a selection of starters, pasta, main course and
fish dishes. Starters may include Parma Ham & Melon, Smoked
Swordfish or Gozitana Fish Soup. A choice of three different
types of pasta includes spaghetti, penne or tortellini with
sauces such as Marinara Bianco, Gorgonzola or Rabbit. For
main course one can choose Fillet with Pepper sauce, Chicken
Cacciatore or Ta’ Tona Speciality. Fish dishes include
King Prawns, Augustelli, Lampuki (in season) or ask for the
catch of the day. To finish off, for dessert there is baked
Alaska, Semi Freddo or Dessert of the Day. An extensive choice
of local and foreign wines are also available.
